  • We work primarily in residential and private sector commercial works, we aren’t a one specialism fits all company. The main bulk of our work is influenced by new build houses and self-build housing for private clients, offering solutions from brief through to occupation.

  • Yes. We never charge for a chat. We offer free 45 minute consultation which you can book through our contact page. We can also arrange initial visits to your site, and follow-up meetings, all complimentary to you.

  • Each project is bespoke and with that comes its own bespoke pricing structure. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. As a rule of thumb, for domestic residential works, we estimate your professional fees can be in the region of 4-7% of your anticipated construction budget.

If you are keen to hear more about pricing however, please contact us and we can talk you through the steps, and provide some initial insight for you.

  • We are a small, young, family friendly group of people, who all believe in 3 main fundamentals. We believe good design comes from interaction and experience, we believe in professionalism and building connections and above all else, we believe in trust and delivering on our word.

We have worked with homeowners for over 10 years now; we have been in your position; we have failed, and we have learned. Our founder, Alfie Goss - leads by demonstration. He is a finalist for Young Business Person of the Year 2023 - which is testament to his hard work and determination over the years.

We work with our clients to not only design inspiring places and buildings, but to provide a service which is trustworthy, down to earth and essentially - cut’s the BS. Having worked with contractors, suppliers, consultants on our own building projects, we know where you have been, we know you need to trust your team, and above all else stay on budget. We won’t sell you the dream and then not deliver - we work alongside you day in day out to achieve your goals.

  • Yes. We have a vast amount of experience dealing with local authorities and the UK planning structure, and are well versed to submit planning, deal with case officers and push for successful applications.

In the unfortunate event of a refused application, we have the experience to also instruct revisions, or appeal to the secretary of state planning inspectorate in support of your application. We can talk you through all the steps if required.

  • We work hard as a team to promote sustainable, eco-friendly architecture and always strive to reduce the carbon footprint of our designs. Whether that is designing to BREEAM or Passiv-haus standards, or purely informing the design to be aware of its surroundings and position - we pride ourselves in offering a solution which is progressive, and sustainable, yet still creates a warm comfy home.

  • Of-course. All projects start with an initial brief, where we take your budget and use it, not as a target but a hard limit. We will advise if we think you current plans are achievable with your budget, and if not we can cost plan to help you make decisions that are best for your wallet. Low budget doesn’t mean you can’t have your vision - it means we work harder for you to deliver a design that is sensible, clever yet still captivating. We will work closely with size, shape and materials, sourcing materials which are cheaper but give the required finish - in order to not compromise on design standards.

  • We have worked with listed buildings for over 10 years now - whether that be planning for a new addition to a Grade I, II or III listed building or applying for planning for remedial work to historical sites. Our team is experienced in conservative design, to ensure they are thoughtful and conserve the character and feel of the older properties. We can undertake conservation appraisals, and listed building applications to support your vision - which we can discuss with you in our initial conversations.

  • Our network of local contractors, builders, developers, groundworkers etc. spreads far and wide across the south coast. We have formed great connections with all of them over the years, and would put our trust 100% in anyone we recommend to you. We can put you in contact with any of them, that you wish, or we can tender on your behalf for the works to manage the communication process with them.

  • That’s a great question. It’s one that is asked time and time again. Architectural design can take many forms, and it boils down to a few many factors; quality; workmanship; and experience.

You will easily find an abundance of services out there where you can achieve a satisfactory design for your extension or new-build architectural project, and achieve planning consent. However, the difference that sets good architecture apart from this is simple; great architecture is site specific, it matches the context, it plays with light, shadow, materials, palette, circulation, orientation, experience, wind, sunlight and a whole host of variables. A good design blends all these elements seamlessly, to provide a design which is tasteful, but efficient, matches the users needs, reduces living strain and improves user experience.

We will always work to your brief, and use your design guidelines as the fundamentals of the project. However, as you would expect us to do so, we will share our input and advise accordingly to anything we feel could improve the design or may be working against it. That’s why you are here right?

  • We hold professional indemnity insurance with AXA Business, which we align accordingly with each project, depending on specific requirements for that work. Details on this can be made available on request.

Our founding director, Alfie Goss, holds a Bachelors in Architecture (BA Hons) as well as a Masters in Architecture (MArch with Distinction), up to RIBA Part II Standards. We are not licensed by ARB or chartered with RIBA.
