Regeneration scheme outlook for Butser Quarry

This is the first phase of the project which is represents a wider masterplan for regeneration at the currently redundant Butser Hill Quarry in Petersfield. The application will support wider proposals for the South Downs National Park (SDNP) council as part of their local plan for the future of Petersfield and the wider SDNP.

Landmark Design have conceptualised a schematic approach to the quarry which looks to repopulate the site with a series of mixed use development and learning centres - to enrich the community with the nature and prospects within its locality. The proposals include a large multi-functional exhibition and museum with cafe, terrace and quarry cave system. The site is then split into segments, including a botanical garden, natural swimming lake, private zero carbon accommodation, residential farming pastures and an abundance of green net-carbon infrastructure.
