Project Overview
This project involved the creation of a standalone garden pavilion, designed as a flexible retreat for games, home cinema, and entertaining. The clients wanted a dedicated space away from the main house that could accommodate gatherings and relaxation while maintaining a sense of luxury and contemporary style.
Design Approach
The pavilion takes the form of a crisp, minimalist cube, defined by full-height glazing on the garden-facing elevation. Its simple geometry and refined detailing allow it to sit harmoniously within the landscaped garden while maintaining a bold, modern presence. Subtle integrated lighting enhances its character, ensuring the building has just as much impact in the evening as it does during the day.
Spatial Layout
Inside, the open-plan layout is designed to be highly versatile. The space can transition from a lively games room to an intimate home cinema or an entertaining hub for family and friends. Large sliding glass doors connect the interior seamlessly to the garden terrace, creating a fluid indoor–outdoor experience.
Sustainability & Materials
The structure is built using high-performance insulation and glazing to ensure comfort year-round. A restrained material palette of stone, timber, and glass creates a timeless aesthetic, while the minimalist design reduces maintenance and maximises durability.
Outcome
The result is a modern garden pavilion that functions as both a retreat and a social hub. With its sleek architectural form, versatile interiors, and strong garden connection, it provides a perfect balance of sophistication and fun for everyday life and special occasions.
The pavilion has completely changed the way we use our garden and home. It’s become our go-to space for entertaining, from family games nights to evenings with friends, and the home cinema setup is incredible. We love how the design feels sleek and modern, yet so comfortable and inviting. With the glass doors opening out to the garden, it works just as well for summer gatherings as it does for cosy winter evenings — it’s everything we hoped for and more.
